Let me start by saying I’m a pretty private person when it comes to my life. I don’t know why, I just am. I had a friend who had no idea we were in the same field of work before I came to BOA. He was mad at me for not telling him that we were in the same field, logistics. I probably should have told more people when I started in the freight industry but I used to think if they don’t ask why bring it up… Of course that was when I was younger. Now as I continue into adulthood people have an interest in what I do. I tell them I work with a logistics company. Their response? What’s that? I might as well tell them I train capoeira as well. Hmmm…what’s that? I usually get the same response 😉

How I came to be where I am now: It was a sunny Tuesday afternoon. Actually, who knows what it was like outside, I had no windows LOL On one of my many frequent visits to Facebook a friend of mine sends out a message saying they need an intern for their company. I inquired about the position they seek, not knowing the chaotic world I would enter. By the way if you happen to read this and you were my previous employer, it was never you it was really me. I felt like I wasn’t growing anymore. I needed a change, and had to take a risk.

Okay so this is the “steez…” (Just so you know, I use the term when I explain a situation), Since this is somewhat of a bio and we are trying to get to know each other, you might as well feel out my diction. For about six years I worked for an architectural company building 3d models using 3d software called 3d studio max. A matter of fact, here is a link to the work I was involved in http://www.jbullock.com/interiors.php If you want to know which one’s I’ve worked just shoot me an email or give me a call. Don’t act shy, you guys talk to me all the time.

Let’s start with the martial arts,Capoeira. This has saved my life in so many ways. The family, confidence and love I got for training this art since 2002,with a 3 year break, has brought me to new heights in so many ways. Come take a class! http://capoeirabrasil.com/ That might have been a little straight forward, but honsetly the only way to truly know is to experience and see it for yourself. At times I ask myself why do I do this, mainly when I get kicked in the head or ribs. Courage, enlightenment and a chance to pass what my Mestre(Master) and instructors have taught me. You have to give back the goodness life blesses you with.

James Dewitt Yancey. My idol, hero, and influence. This man has not only changed my life, but the life of countless others. The world of music knew him as J Dilla. He was a producer who came out of Detroit, Michigan who turned the industry upside down. Unfortunately he passed on due to a rare blood disease. Just writing that part brings the lump in my throat.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ox8dfDLLJM. Read his story, or just ask me. His work ethic, what he fought for and represented, molded me over the past few years. He never gave up and when the odds were against him, and they were, he’d rise to the occasion. He can take a record from your daddy’s record collection and turn it into a masterpiece. He is one of the reasons why I have a MPC3000 drum machine.(I like to deconstruct and reconstruct beats) I like to understand how things work, trying to decode his work is sometimes impossible. Rest in Peace.

One last reveal, comes sweet and fresh in the morning to certain storefronts. The Donut, God’s gift to the world. I love these with a passion. I blame my mother for this and she knows she is responsible. People see a donut shop and for some reason I pop in their head. I guess it’s my fault seeing that I love them so much. I actually had a friend bring me Dunkin Donuts back from the east coast, since California wants to be difficult and not have any local locations. One time I actually googled a location and one popped up somewhere in West Covina. So I went, and found nothing but a Baskin Robbins, it was an awkward moment. I love them but I would not give my soul for them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3ZcZ2h4Ths. I do however have a plan involving them, and it’s a secret.

Back to what I was saying, I needed change so I went to visit Boa Logistics. I made a little visit to the office where, I saw a girl, and a bodybuilder in the back somewhere, we call him Broski Woski. The owners and I had a chat about what their business was all about. I listened and I knew this was going to be rough. But we need mountains in our life to grow right? It was perfect timing for what I was looking for. A couple of months prior, I was blessed with a gift and to maintain this I needed, more importantly wanted, more growth as a human being.

So I took the job! I was jumping with joy getting ready to start my new adventure. Let me tell you right now what was going through my head. Actually I won’t, due to the language that would be involved. This job was a hard adjustment for me, but the big guys wouldn’t let me give up. Another little fact:The two big guys, Matt and Walter, I’ve known them since I was 18-19 years of age from another part of my life, the martial arts training we all do. They were too cool to talk to me though. Well at least that is what I thought in my head. They’ve always had my back and I’m still thankful. Wink Wink. Who would have known the impact they were going to have in my life, I’m sure they didn’t.

They took me under their wings again and continue to mold me into a silent detective who has the desk in the corner in the shadows deciphering the hieroglyphics of the freight industry. That pretty much how I came to be apart of this company. This job however is not the only aspect of my life. I’ll reveal a few, due to the fact I don’t want this to be more than 5 pages. Reading this you might perceive me as a goofy guy. If so, you’re right. I am a son, a brother, a boyfriend, a friend, a capoeirista, a musician,a dreamer,a goof ball and future owner of something innovative in my near future. Stay blessed.

Wait! Want to know something random? I have five names, and they are not nicknames. Bye!
